Not anything beats selfmade! Those sausage patties are so really easy to make and so they’re additionally freezer-friendly. Win-win!
No longer certain if it’s the New Yr, or if it’s the quarantine-lockdown-stay-at-home-order, however I’ve been making A LOT of items from scratch.
Pizza dough. Rosemary bread. Sourdough biscuits. Pasta. English cakes. Hamburger buns. (recipes for the latter all coming quickly). I HAVE BEEN MAKING ALL OF IT CONSTANTLY.
Now I will upload sausage patties to the checklist. And consider me after I inform you that it’s so arduous to overcome selfmade.
With only a few spices, floor beef and bacon (sure, we want just a bit little bit of bacon fats right here!), those guys are merely best. To not point out, they’re utterly freezer-friendly, supplying you with 100% breakfast insurance coverage down the street.

Elements:
- 1 tablespoon chopped recent sage leaves
- 2 teaspoons chopped recent thyme leaves
- 1 teaspoon fennel seeds, overwhelmed
- 1/2 teaspoon overwhelmed crimson pepper flakes, not obligatory
- 1/8 teaspoon floor nutmeg
- Kosher salt and freshly floor black pepper, to style
- 1 1/2 kilos floor beef
- 3 slices (raw) bacon, diced
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup, not obligatory
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
Instructions:
- SAGE MIXTURE: In a small bowl, mix sage, thyme, fennel seeds, crimson pepper flakes, nutmeg, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and 1 teaspoon pepper.
- In a big bowl, mix beef, bacon, maple syrup and SAGE MIXTURE; watch out to not over combine.
- To form the patties, scoop out 1/4 cup (about 2 oz) of beef combination and flatten to create 2 1/2- to 3-inch broad patties, forming about 16 patties.*
- Warmth canola oil in a big skillet over medium warmth. Upload sausage patties and prepare dinner till browned, about 2-3 mins in line with facet.
Notes:
*TO FREEZE: Raw sausage patties will also be frozen between sheets of parchment paper for as much as 1 month. Prepare dinner over medium low warmth, turning steadily, till browned and cooked via, about 10 mins. DO NOT THAW.
